I’m not sure I understand why it’s OK to break the law by ignoring a direct court order to reveal trivial details of a person’s life but not OK to break the law by accessing an open voicemail system to reveal trivial details of a person’s life.

The exemption applies solely to “large and medium companies”: it is not available for smaller firms. The government says it expects “large financial services companies to make the greatest use of the exemption regime”. The main beneficiaries, in other words, will be the banks.

Chocolate and Depression

So people who eat lots of chocolate are more depressive?

Personally I think that’s a very presumptive headline. It implies chocolate causes depression.

Within the article they say they’re not sure if it’s causation or just correlation. If the chocolate makes you depressed, or if your underlying depression makes you want to eat chocolate.

But the headline suggests that it’s pretty clear - chocolate makes you depressed. Bad writing all round.
